
Position Purpose
The City Life Volunteer Coordinator will develop and coordinate volunteer efforts for the City Life facility. Working under the supervision of the City Life Operations Director and in conjunction with the City Life team, the City Life Volunteer Coordinator will champion volunteering at the facility. The City Life Volunteer Coordinator will find, win, keep, and lift volunteers to serve in various capacities in an effort to address the primary holistic needs of 11–19 year olds, equipping and empowering them to become transformed lifelong followers of Jesus, through comprehensive ministry efforts
Essential Job Functions and Duties
Develop a communications plan that empowers volunteers towards faithful service in various roles.
Implement a scheduling system that efficiently communicates with volunteers and enhances engagement.
Monitor and progress prospective volunteers to ensure proper next steps are taken.
Recruit, develop, and coordinate meal teams through partner churches, small groups, community organizations, and businesses.
Coordinate in-kind donation opportunities such as food and supply drives.
Supply City Life facility with cleaning items, snack area food, and ministry supplies.
Serve on the operations team multiple evenings a week.
Participate in weekly City Life team meetings focused on developing creative programming, assessing ministry needs, and praying for ministry vision.
Collaborate with the City Life team and Director of Ministry on developing ministry goals for City Life and mapping out steps for achieving these meaningful goals.
Champion YFC Ambassadors initiative among current and prospective volunteers and donors.
Collaborate with the Development Director in an effort to execute See the Story events that highlight what’s happening at the City Life Center.
Actively participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas to enhance the mission of YFC.
Assist other staff members when necessary in the development and implementation of ministry and personal spiritual growth.
Refer to the Knowledge Base standards, processes & best practices in coordinating efficient and effective ministry
Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC regular full-time employees will be given the opportunity to be involved in the Stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These opportunities could include fundraising events, YFC donor contacts, and other opportunities as provided.
Spiritual Responsibilities
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.
As an employee of Youth for Christ and a minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:
Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
Note: In the future, YFC USA will be establishing the guidelines for the Ordination or Licensing for staff. At that time additional job description content will be distributed for those staff who qualify for this standing.
