Faith Baptist Church is seeking a passionate, energetic, leader to join our team on the Oregon Coast. The Student Ministries Pastor is responsible for providing strategic and spiritual leadership to students and the families at Faith Baptist Church.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work with the Lead Pastor to develop continuity in direction for the Youth and Children’s Ministry of Faith Baptist Church
- Oversee a relevant, creative, and Christ-centered Student Ministry
- Plan and lead a weekly ministry strategy that encourages the unbeliever to know Jesus and the believer to grow as a disciple of Jesus
- Develop a strong relationship with students, parents, fellow staff, and church partners
- Lead, conduct, and give oversight to midweek and Sunday morning student ministries
- Recruit, develop, and train leaders who equip others
- Regularly seek to improve Faith Baptist’s weekly student ministry experience
- Preach 10-12 times a year or perform other duties as given by the Lead Pastor
- Oversee Sunday morning student ministries and mid-week youth and AWANAS programs as well as other events such as: Special Youth Events and Outreaches. Summer Camps, Vacation Bible School
- Maintain Youth Ministry financial budget
- Lead students to engage in the larger ministry strategy of the church by participating in: Baptisms, Small Groups, Serve Days, Other church ministry events
- Maintain a love for God and for student ministry outreach
Competencies & Expectations:
- A growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior
- Demonstrates a lifestyle and family life that is consistent in word and practice with the teaching of Jesus Christ and consistently meets and strives to maintain the leadership character qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1‐7
- Masters degree from an evangelical seminary
- A minimum of 3-5 years of ministry experience
- Organizational and administrative abilities to lead multiple areas of ministry and coordinate many servant leaders
- Proven skills in student ministry contexts, specifically in the areas of teaching, leader training, and discipleship
- Maintains a spirit of unity and supports other aspects of church mission as assigned by the Lead Pastor
- Communicates effectively and courteously with others, including other staff, those in the church and community with a spirit of unity, teamwork, respect, and service
- Agreement with and support of the church's mission, direction, and strategies
- Will follow the lead of the Lead Pastor and support his ministry so that there is no division in the body of Christ
- Have a willingness to serve God and others rather than a desire to be served
