Job Description

ACSI accredited Christian Heritage Academy is seeking a long-term substitute for a maternity leave in the Upper School English Department that will begin on March 1 through June 5. This is a part-time position, working 26 hours, in a block schedule environment. This experienced, creative and entrepreneurial educator must be able to effectively teach American Literature, literary genres and worldviews from the Middle Ages through the 21st century, and be willing to explore different strategies and creative ways to teach using the various learning modalities in a block schedule.

In addition to a personal faith in Christ Jesus, prospective candidates should have a degree in Education, hold a teaching license with endorsement in Secondary Education - English.  Qualified candidates with a minimum of 2-3 year relevant teaching experience should submit a resume and cover letter to employment@christianheritage.org, being certain to include a personal statement regarding faith in Jesus Christ and provide examples of biblical integration in a classroom teaching environment.

  • Spiritual maturity, with academic and leadership abilities that will enable him/her to teach all truth as God's truth.
  • A bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university, preferably with a Professional Educator License with endorsements in Secondary Education - English.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant classroom teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and innovation in an educational environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • An ability to maintain discretion and absolute confidentiality.
  • The ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment in a supportive, transparent, and solution-driven fashion.
