 Synopsis of the position:

Beginning Point Church began a “reset” of our church fellowship in the Summer of 2017.  Since then, we have re-established our identity in the community and we are being led by the Lord to now emphasize outreach to Benton and the surrounding small communities including Hazel Green, Cuba City, Shullsburg and the outlying areas...a population of around 11,000 people.  We are uniquely positioned, being centrally located in this area, as a church that is preaching the born-again Gospel of the Lord Jesus and fostering a conservative Biblical Kingdom-centered discipleship, based in the literal Truth of God’s Word and a dependency on the Holy Spirit

Beyond desire of congregation to grow spiritually we have a consensus to specifically concentrate on outreach and discipleship to the many new young families and their children who are part of this area.

We feel the need now to address this emphasis by bringing aboard a pastor with the support of his wife and family who have it as their shared passion and calling to reach and disciple young families and children for Christ.

The ideal pastor would be gifted in evangelism, preaching and teaching and who would have a real desire and plan in his heart to lead outreach to youth and their parents together for Christ.

The elder-led structure of this church is committed to setting this God-called pastor free from most administrative and “personnel concerns” of the congregation in order that he would be supported and empowered to minister with focus upon their passion and calling.

Admittedly, our congregation’s demographic is on the older side, but we do have a core of kids and a few young families that are hungry, serving and engaged. Nonetheless, this position is definitely for a self-starting, vision-driven, entrepreneurial Spirit-filled pastor who can see the future as God imparts His calling on their hearts and minds.

Regular ministry would be to continue to develop and expand our Wednesday Evening Kid’s Ministry, evangelistic events to reach kids, youth and families for Christ. Oversight, teaching and training related to the youth Sunday School ministry would also be required.

Compensation  $45,000 to $55,000 based on experience and competency

Other Qualifications:

  1. Because this position involves working with youth, all applicants must be willing to go through and pass a background check that we provide.
  2. Must have a vibrant daily walk with the Lord.
  3. Must be willing to have a full time presence in the church and community.
  4. Must be a positive person who desires to build relationships and sees the good in others.
  5. Must be able to work well with the elders in a spirit of cooperation and shared vision.
  6. Must believe that prayer is the central requirement and resource for the Christian life and Kingdom ministry.
  7. Must be in agreement with the doctrine of Beginning Point Church
  8. Experience in working with youth and young families in a church fellowship is a requirement and must be supported with references.
  9. Education directly relating to this position is preferred, but faithful and positive experience is more important.
  10. Must be a self-starter and visionary type of person who can navigate challenges with faith and forward looking perseverance.
  11. Must be able and willing to understand, articulate and promote the stated Mission, Values and Vision of Beginning Point Church under the direction of the elders and the senior pastor.
