Sekolah Pelita Harapan (School of Light and Hope) is a group of five international Christian K-12
campuses, located in Jakarta, Indonesia. English is the language of instruction. The schools
began in 1993 in response to a need for quality education founded upon biblical Christian faith. We
are committed to the Evangelical Reformed faith and focused on equipping Indonesian young people with a world class education that gives them entry to further study in English language universities all over the world. Across the five schools we teach over 2200, K-12 students using the Cambridge Examination and International Baccalaureate curriculum. We currently have 160 expatriate teachers with us, mostly from North America. (The faculty is made up of teachers from 14 different countries.) Over 90% of our graduates pursue their university studies internationally. As a Christian school, our vision is for students to grow in True Knowledge, Faith in Christ, and
Godly Character. We teach from a biblical worldview and seek to send out students as
“world-changers,” committed to the redemptive restoration of a world in need of God’s grace. While
all of our teachers are Christians, we have a very diverse student body, many of whom are Muslim,
Buddhist, and Hindu.

SPH is authorized by the IBO, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). We are affiliated with Christian Schools International (CSI) and have strong personal connections with many Christian colleges in North America.
