Job Description: Music Minister

Qualifications
The heart of a worship leader (A love for God and people)
Some leadership and administrative skills
Previous experience and references
Must be at home in a multi-cultural multi-ethnic urban environment
Bachelor Degree w/an emphasis in music preferred but not required
The ability to lead from the piano/synthesizer or guitar preferred but not required

Responsibilities;
Lead the music ministry for all services, Sunday, Wed. night, and all special events, as they are planned. (Multi-Ethnic Worship Setting)

Develop and lead the music ministry team at all appropriate services. Conduct weekly rehearsals, evaluate and shepherd individual musicians and singers. Organize a roster and weekly schedule to utilize worship team members.

Develop and lead the adult choir. Schedule regular rehearsals, evaluate and shepherd individuals. Organize a church concert at Christmas and Easter.

Encourage, develop and include youth with musical gifts to serve in every aspect of music ministry.

Organize and develop the music library. Update copyright protections, as needed.

Evaluate, repair and replace equipment, as needed. Work with specialists as needed to do upkeep, i.e. piano tuning, and audio/video equipment maintenance.

Attend and positively contribute to weekly staff meeting on Wednesdays. Attend weekly planning meetings with Pastor as needed. Participate as able in all ministry events requiring sound/music etc.

Be available for extra events such as weddings, funerals and denominational events under the direction of the Pastor.

Develop and maintain A/V volunteers

Coordinate visiting choirs/musical groups

Develop and supervise Media Ministry Team

Oversee Music Ministry Budget

Be a learner – take music ministry team to appropriate seminars/workshops

Reports to Sr. Pastor

Hours;
Minimum 20 hrs - Maximum 300hrs Weekly

Salary;
$350/wk
