First Baptist Church was organized in a meeting in Antigo at the Langlade County Courthouse on November 24, 1883. We have a long history of service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The mission of First Baptist Church is simply stated, we are about the business of “preparing people to meet Jesus.”
As Psalm 119:105 says: “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path.” Therefore, the members of First Baptist Church are diligent in helping others to find God’s light.
First Baptist Church of Antigo, WI embraces a conservative, evangelical, fundamental approach to worship. We are an independent Baptist church, not affiliated with a large denomination. We preach directly from God’s Word…the Holy Bible. We believe what it says, and we don’t adjust the scripture to fit today’s drifting beliefs. God’s Word is the same yesterday, today and forever, so we emphasize putting biblical principles into practice in our daily lives.
United in Christian faith, hope and love, we of First Baptist Church joyfully commit ourselves to bring glory and honor to Christ by worshiping God, ministering in His name, sharing the good news of Christ, helping one another grow in Christ, and drawing all into the love and fellowship of the body.
Dick Kendall is currently the Pastor of First Baptist Church in Antigo. After serving First Baptist Church for 14 months as the interim pastor from October 2013 through the year 2014, he accepted the call to the FBC pulpit effective January 1, 2015. Pastor Dick has announced that his last Sunday in the pulpit will be in early January 2021 or sooner if a candidate is selected and called by God to serve this congregation.
