Training leaders. Multiplying congregations. Empowering movements.
Who We Are
At the Greenhouse Movement, we are following the Holy Spirit together for the spontaneous expansion of God’s Church. We do that through 3 main areas:
Training Leaders | Since we value the work of the Holy Spirit in each person, we come alongside emerging Christian leaders to help them discern where God is calling them and release them into ministry using their unique gifts. Each leader is supported by a senior mentor, and our various movements provide training grounds to help them learn practical ministry skills, deepen their emotional health, and grow their vision for the Gospel.
Multiplying Congregations | We believe new congregations are essential to evangelism, so Greenhouse intentionally lowers the 3 traditional barriers to planting a church: money, education, and ordination. Instead of requiring a church plant to be financially self-sufficient, we connect each congregation into regional churches (parishes) that are self-sustaining as a whole. And rather than requiring a new pastor to be sent away to seminary and ordained first, we release lay ministers (catechists) to raise up new congregations under the authority of an ordained pastor, and then train them as they go.
Empowering Movements | Ministry is tough. That's why our movements connect churches in similar contexts, so leaders can learn from each other and build key ministry relationships. Some movements focus on offering distinct training paths for our leaders, helping them learn practical ministry skills, deepen their emotional health, and receive accessible seminary-level education on the go. And others aim at growing our congregations' vision for the Gospel, by uniting churches across racial divides, forging reciprocal mission relationships, or creating local liturgical music.
Why We're Different
Training Leaders | Unlike any other work environment, each mission staff's job description with Greenhouse is designed uniquely with and for them. We then train, disciple, and support leaders to bring the Gospel into the communities where God has led them. At Greenhouse, you don't just fill a need; you follow a call.
Multiplying Congregations | Lowering traditional church planting barriers enables us to reach contexts the standard model doesn't, such as nursing homes, college campuses, rural communities, and low income areas. We believe every person needs the church. At Greenhouse, you can bring it to them.
Empowering Movements | Church planting is entrepreneurial, which too often means it's under-resourced and isolated. By connecting streams of ministry across congregations, we create the robust relational networks and clear paths for growth that leaders and churches need to thrive. At Greenhouse, you don't have to be alone.
