Grafton Baptist Church
13 Owens Road
Grafton, NY
PO Box 26, Grafton, NY 12082
Grafton Baptist Church is seeking candidates to fill a ministry position of pastor here in our village in
Northeastern New York. The church has a rich history of ministering the gospel as a Baptist congregation to
the village of Grafton for nearly 200 years. Our congregation is seeking a spiritual leader who will help us
continue and further develop our ministry to a new generation here in Grafton and the surrounding
communities. Grafton was once known as part of the greater region that sparked the Great Awakening
centuries ago. Northeastern New York has become one of the most unchurched regions in the United States.
We are hoping and praying that our Lord would be pleased to send a new movement of the Spirit here in the
Northeast. Our congregation is hoping that God would call new leadership to our church who might help us
strive toward that end. We are praying for a pastoral leader of God’s choosing.
Prominently located in the town square, Grafton Baptist Church facilities includes the church’s historic chapel,
a spacious Sunday school, a fellowship hall and a modest parsonage. The church sits on a 4-acre parcel with
adequate parking for all.
Grafton is a rural hill town with a population of around 2000. It located 25 miles east of the State Capitol of
Albany. From Grafton it is approximately a 20-40-minute drive to the cities of Troy, NY, Bennington Vermont
or Pittsfield Massachusetts for shopping, dining, entertainment and leisure activities. The town is comprised of
forest, field and lakes and experiences the beauty of four seasons. Between Dyken Pond Environmental Center
and Grafton Lakes State Park, hiking, cross country skiing, swimming, boating, fishing and nature education
and more are offered year-round.
The emphasis of our ministry is on presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are lost and helping
believers become more committed and equipped church disciples including baptism. Bible study and prayer
are a vital part of weekly gatherings and fellowship dinners are a common occurrence. Not only does the
church have a desire to share our faith, but we also have a heart to reach out to the needs of those who are
hurting and less fortunate. We believe training, equipping, sending and supporting missionaries and their
efforts to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth is our calling as well.
By the grace of God and through the generous gifts of God’s people our church is debt free. Our desire is to at
some point meet the complete financial needs of a full time pastor. Currently, depending on a candidate’s
need and present station in life, this position may very well be bi-vocational. A part-time job or other income
may be necessary to maintain his and perhaps his family’s standard of living.
Prospective candidates may forward all inquiries, cover letter and resumes by email to Deacon Al Lindeman
(LindemanNorman@gmail.com) or by mail to Al Lindeman, 379 Walk Road, Sandlake, NY 12153.
