Superior Community Church Profile

Superior, Montana, located in the far western edge of Montana is nestled in the Clark Fork River valley.  This is a small mountain town with a population of about 900.  It is the County seat, hosting a hospital, a K-12 public school and a Forest Service Ranger District station.  Timber and recreation are the backbone of the economy.

The congregation consists primarily of retirees, a tightly knit community of family and friends who care for each other's needs.

Our church building is located at the west end of Main Avenue, possessing approximately 2,500 sq ft on each of two levels.  It has a unisex restroom upstairs and two restrooms downstairs.  The sanctuary holds 90 chairs that are stacked to the side after the church service so the AWANA and youth groups can have a game time as part of their activities.

The basement has four classrooms, an open fellowship hall, and a kitchen.  The church was built in 1983, with an addition constructed in 2000 that nearly doubled the size of the church.

Church governance consists of an Elder Board (pastor and two other men) who oversee the spiritual condition of the church.   Additionally, we have a Church Board which includes the pastor, a board chairman chosen by the board, and 5 other members (men and women) elected by the congregation.

The church is financially sound with no outstanding debt.  We help support missionaries and try to reach out to the community.  We have Sunday school for all ages, Bible studies, a ladies’ group, a men’s group, a K-6 AWANA, and a youth group for grades 6 through 12.

The church is air conditioned and heated with forced air.  The church owns a large double lot across the street for parking and future construction.
