Reclaim13 is a faith-based nonprofit with a mission is to end the cycle of sexual exploitation. This cycle begins in an individual’s life, and without intervention, continues into the next generation. Most trafficked children were sexually abused, neglected, or received other forms of maltreatment as children. Once abused, a child is more vulnerable to further abuse and, potentially, exploitation. Child sexual exploitation has potential long-term consequences in the life path of survivors. Reclaim13 intervenes in this cycle and works toward a world where all children can grow up feeling safe and loved.
Reclaim13 works in three areas to help end the cycle of exploitation: Prevention, Healing, and Community Engagement. Prevention programs focus on stopping the exploitation before it can start through education, training, and awareness. Healing programs provide trauma-informed care and therapy to survivors recovered from sex trafficking while also equipping them with the tools and skills to reclaim their lives and their futures free from exploitation. Community engagement is vital to ending the cycle of exploitation as everyone plays a part in creating a safe environment where children can grow up free from exploitation.
