North Way Christian Community is seeking a Full-Time Discipleship Director for our Oakland Campus which is located in the heart of Pittsburgh and made up of many young adults and college students. The Discipleship Director provides leadership to the Discipleship Ministry and the execution of North Way s Discipleship Pathway. This includes connecting with first-time guests, providing vision and leadership to groups, recruiting, equipping, and caring for group leaders and helping people take forward steps of faith. The Discipleship Director will also provide support to the Campus Pastor in areas such as congregational care, leading weekend services and teaching in various ministry environments. The major responsibilities of this position are: 

-Execute North Way's Discipleship Pathway in concert with the Campus Pastor and the Discipleship Champion
-Recruit, equip, and care for small group leaders
-Connect people into groups and serving opportunities
-Oversee and lead North Way NEXT, which is an environment for people who are new to North Way
-Help people take forward steps of faith such as baptism
-Follow up with people who are new to North Way
-Teach, as directed by the Campus Pastor, in various ministry areas or settings
-Build meaningful relationships with people who are part of, or new to, the campus by connecting with them prior to and following weekend services

Communication: Listens well; presents written and verbal information in a clear, concise, accurate and timely manner.

Relational: Is good at initiating conversations, making others feel cared for, and developing relationships.

Servant Leadership: Understands and demonstrates that a leader serves the organization and has great responsibility to staff, other leaders and members of the community. Readily and willingly rolls up sleeves ; is visible, approachable, and accessible to all employees; is humble and keeps personal ego in check; builds the confidence and esteem of others.

Education, Skills, Experience:
-Bachelor's degree
-Demonstrated volunteer recruitment and leadership development experience
Proficient in Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Apple (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) office tools
-Strong communications skills in both small and large group settings
-Background checks must be current
