Job Overview

Crosspoint Church aims to glorify God by proclaiming and cherishing the gospel, connecting and caring for people, and reaching and serving our neighbors and the nations by being on mission.  To that end, we are seeking a new Youth Director to be responsible for leading a gospel-centered youth ministry that is a part of the body and ministry of Crosspoint Church, while serving as a spiritual leader to youth (middle and high school-aged) and their parents.

Job Requirements:

  1. Full agreement and desire to teach within the doctrine and teaching of Crosspoint.
  2. Prior experience working with teenagers and discipleship-based ministry.
  3. Excellent understanding of the Scriptures and communicating how they are fulfilled in Christ Jesus.
  4. Teachable, able to teach, and excellent at cooperating with others.
  5. Organized and able to recruit, train, and lead volunteers.
  6. (Optional, but preferred) Seminary training, or desire to complete seminary while working at Crosspoint Church.

Job Description

  1. Reach out to and develop a relationship with teenage members and guests of Crosspoint.
  2. Help plan, develop, and implement all aspects of the youth ministry as a connected and integral part of the church.
  3. Work with the Elders to recruit, train, and disciple youth interns, volunteers, and teachers.
  4. Ensure proper planning, coordination, leadership, and execution of weekly youth meetings and Sunday School classes and youth events (including retreats, special events, and summer camp).
  5. Meet regularly with the parents to communicate needs, enlist their prayer support, let them know what God is doing in the lives of their students, and listen to their concerns and ideas.
  6. Meet regularly with students in settings away from church: church building, schools, coffee shops, etc.
  7. Work to transition students from 5th grade into the youth ministry and from high school into college.
  8. Mentor students in developing Bible reading skills and spiritual gifts.
  9. Oversee the structures that support the Student Ministry, including strategic goals, budgets, and use of facilities.
