Getting to know us…

Porter Baptist is located about 8 miles west of the village of Constantine, the seed corn capital of the world. The building is located in a rural area with lots of farmland, pristine lakes, and holds many opportunities for fishing and hunting. Grocery, clothing, and building goods stores are only 12 to 15 miles away. Shipshewana, Indiana is just a 25 minute drive, offering many different experiences in shopping, musicals, and concerts, as well as a large flea market and many Amish goods.

The church attendance averages close to 145 people on Sunday mornings. A Small Group Ministry began in February 2018 in place of the evening service. These groups meet in homes the first and third Sundays of the month for fellowship, discipleship, and prayer. Over 50 percent of the congregation is involved in this ministry.

We have an AWANA ministry that is running strong and a Student Ministry with several students and some servant leaders. Through the 2022/2023 school year, we have ministered to some 60 children and young people.

We are very passionate about our outreach in the community, holding several events a year to show the love of Christ to our community. We are also involved in our local school district, building relationships with both teachers and staff through luncheons and a ministry called “Falcons for Christ”. This is pastor and lay leader led at Constantine High School on Thursday mornings during the school year.

The dress for Sunday morning is casual and the music is blended with both hymns and modern choruses (we have a praise team). The ESV version of the Bible is used from the pulpit and in much of the curriculum used.

We are excited at what God is doing in us and through us for His glory and look forward to hearing from you as we wait to see how God leads in this next phase of ministry!

For His Glory Alone,
