In January of 1965, the vision of the Gospel Missionary Union and the members of the Auke Bay Bible Church Bible Church led to the establishment of our Douglas Island Bible Church. They rented the top floor of the Eagle's Hall in Douglas and held the first service with 40 people in attendance. Our permanent church location opened in 1973, located across the channel from downtown Juneau. In 2015 our church celebrated its 50th anniversary. For the last 50+ years this church has pointed people to Jesus, equipped them to serve Him and sent them out to share the good news that Jesus saves!
Our Statement of Faith: We believe the entire Bible to be God’s own written Word, given to us through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Our interpretation of its true meaning is reflected in our Statement of Faith. We deem this statement to be sound doctrine; it will be the basis for the messages contained in all the teaching of this church. This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.
Our regular congregation size is between 50-75 attendees, combining in person and virtual attendees.
