My mother, sister and I are looking for a caregiver for my father to assist him in my parent's condo in an elevator building in Niles. He is 80 years old and had a stroke 3 and a half years ago with a dementia component. My mother was caring for him alone until the beginning of this year however, is no longer able to do so. We are looking for someone to assist him to get out of bed, toileted and sponge bathed. He is ambulatory with a walker for short distances but, does require extensive assist to come to standing. We are also looking for someone to make his meals, assist with exercise and walking and managing his laundry (including washing bedding), tidying the bathroom, and otherwise engage him throughout the day with conversation, puzzles, etc. Exploring the idea of full time 10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. or possibly a part time day from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday- Friday.
