Ridgeview Baptist Church has been helping people find and follow Jesus for over 70 years in in Danville, Il. Located in a beautiful east central Illinois, Ridgeview is a short drive to Chicago, Indianapolis, Springfield and St. Louis.
Ridgeview’s diverse congregation is passionate about fulfilling our mission of knowing Christ, growing in Christ and Going for Christ. The spiritual formation of children, youth, and their parents is vital to our fulfilling our vision statement. You will ensure there is a unifying and practical strategy for all family ministries for the purpose of serving and equipping families to thrive.
With a new Lead Pastor who joined in 2021, Ridgeview is poised for a new season of ministry and growth. We are seeking a Family Pastor who will have a high level of leadership overseeing our ministries from birth through high school.
We have recently adopted a new constitution and are moving outward in our vision and mission. We are a growing church and in need of someone who can cast a fresh vision for the ministry while building upon the recent successes. We also desire to see our children and youth more involved in serving and ministry at the church and in our community.
About you -
You have a deep love for the Lord that is evident to others.
You bring excitement and enthusiasm to the those you lead.
You will develop and implement a vision to develop lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ with the church serving as the complementary role to the family.
You will be the primary shepherd from cradle through high school and equip families in the Word of God and in daily apprenticeship to Jesus Christ.
You will oversee a discipleship plan from the nursery through the completion of Youth Group, and provide regular communication, workshops, and resources for parents to shepherd their own families. We are currently using ThinkOrange/252 Kids as our primary family ministry discipleship programming.
You will oversee the investment and construction of a new playground.
You will be the point person for developing and leading new initiatives to grow our relationship with the families of the local school district and the surrounding community.
Other:
· Creating and beginning the implementation of an overall strategy to reach, support, and equip families to thrive
· Overseeing the curriculum used at each level of spiritual development and ensure that it connects to the next level
· Ensuring that ministry leaders connect regularly to parents so that they experience a clear partnership in the discipleship of their children
· Oversee equipping and encouragement that leads parents into a biblical study helping them to better embrace their roles and responsibilities.
· Preaching (once per quarter)
· Coaching parents and children privately on specific family issues
· Working with the senior pastor and other ministry teams to ensure that there are opportunities for all generations to worship, learn and serve together
· Recruit, equip and schedule volunteers to support your ministries
