First Baptist Church of Plano, IL is seeking a musician/worship leader to accompany our worship and praise in music and song. We’re a small congregation, in an historical building. We sing hymns and other types of Christian and church music, and we’d like to go back to doing it with live music! This is an opportunity that offers a stipend of $3000, for a term of one year. This isn’t a salary, but it’s a start and a promise to keep working together to attract people to the type of love of God that’s uniquely found in the community of His people, in church. More people, more giving, larger stipend and potential salary!

You should be:

  • A Believer in Jesus Christ and the fundamentals of Christianity.

  • A kind person to yourself and to others.

  • Skilled enough to accompany a variety of music types and singers, and open to developing your musical talents and skills as you work with us too!

  • Able to attend and participate in service every Sunday and to conduct a weekly rehearsal (planned with the group). Also available for Christmas and Easter season services and other occasional times we have something at the church.

  • Committed to Bible study, personally and together with the First Baptist family (online).

  • Confident in sharing your thoughts and ideas as we build the music ministry of our church together.

  • Humble in this opportunity as a way to sharpen your skills, hone your talent and grow in your passions together with us.

What’s the 

Opportunity?

To be the church musician/singer at First Baptist Church of Plano, IL. This isn’t a job or a position, it’s an opportunity to be in community – mutually beneficial!




What’s that Involve?

A few things: 

  • Working together with our song leader to accompany her in a selection each Sunday morning, during worship.

  • Partnering with us to create a small music team of singers and musicians and participating with them to bring 1-2 additional selection each Sunday morning during worship

  • Grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and be openly formed more and more in the Believers way of life. 




What’s Required?

Christianity isn’t just a religion it’s a community of people deeply holding to the tenets and values of the Bible. To move together in what God is doing with us, we have to be of the same mind. To preserve that necessity, we require church workers to:

  • Be openly committed to learning, growing, and understanding God, His Word, and the things of God. 

  • Participate in the full church service(s) consistently. Arriving before service and leaving after its concluded.

  • Participate in Bible study regularly

  • Plan and participate in one music rehearsal weekly

What’s the Pay?

This isn’t a job or position (remember?) We are prepared to partner with you in your growth spiritually and as a musician. We’d like to give you a monthly stipend of $250.00 for the commitment of one year, totaling $3000.00.
