Our Mission
Our mission at Connection Ministries is to equip Christian congregations to minister with adults with intellectual disabilities.
Our Vision
Connection Ministries strives for Christian congregations to be authentic faith communities that reach out, share the Good News of Jesus Christ, and embrace people with intellectual disabilities, their families, and support staff, as they grow together in their relationship with Christ.
Connection Ministries advances this vision through local congregational Friendship groups. Friendship groups are ministries of the local congregation where Christian community is formed. We strive for one-on-one ratios of friends with intellectual disabilities and members of the church.
Most Friendship groups in our Network meet weekly in the evening, from September through May. It is in these groups where we live out the five ministry elements of study of God’s Word, worship, prayer, fellowship, and ministry together. We also assist network churches to put on a three evening Summer Friendship Gathering as an outreach in their community. Connection Ministries provides the curriculum along with other resources.
Areas We Serve
Connection Ministries plants new congregational ministries and provides consultation and training to existing ministries primarily in central Indiana. Congregations outside of central Indiana can still benefit from our telephone consultation and online training resources.
