TOLI (Touch of Love International) is a 501(c)3 faith-based organization that restores human dignity and breaks the cycle of poverty by providing microloans, business training, and Christian discipleship. Our mission is to bring dignified, sustainable, Christ-centered transformation to families in some of the most vulnerable communities in the world.
Our model is simple but powerful: Working in partnership with local churches and ministries in vulnerable communities in Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Nicaragua, we equip poor entrepreneurs with business training and very small loans (average microloan value: $264), in the form of supplies, tools, or inventory needed to start a small business. Their new business generates income needed to provide for their families and improve their communities. Entrepreneurs repay the loan into a local revolving fund so the capital can then be ‘recycled’ to another neighboring entrepreneur. And the most powerful part? All along the way, a TOLI Social Worker walks alongside the entrepreneur, giving support, coaching, accountability, and life-on-life discipleship for the full loan term, and often beyond. The end result is holistic transformation that truly breaks the cycle of poverty.
