University Heights Baptist Church was formed in 1954 with a vision to minister to students on the nearby Oklahoma State University campus. Since then, the church has grown in reach and size. UHBC, with an auditorium and meeting facilities located adjacent to OSU’s campus, reflects demographics of the campus and the Stillwater community. UHBC ministries include an outreach to international spouses through the Hands Abroad ministry, the Joy Bag sewing ministry, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The church also operates “the coffee house”, which serves coffee, provides study facilities to OSU students, and donates the proceeds to a different ministry each month. UHBC also provides multiple Youth and Children activities throughout the year and sends youth to Falls Creek and other church camps each summer. Our staff is led by our Senior Pastor who is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and the church has an strong emphasis of Bible teaching, grace, and discipleship.
Stillwater is about one hour from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The main campus of Oklahoma State
University is based in Stillwater, and the faculty, staff, and students comprise about half of the city’s
50,000 population. Stillwater has been described as “America’s Friendliest College Town”, listed as one
of Money Magazine’s best places to live, and provides a highly-rated public school system. Stillwater also has a regional airport with daily direct flights to/from the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport.
For a person who shares our interest in ministering to college students, you’ll find the opportunities for
ministry at our church, in this town and on the OSU campus to be uniquely exciting and attractive. UHBC
is a growing church that is positioned well to minister to the community and to students, professors and staff at OSU. Stillwater is a fantastic mid-sized university town and OSU is a great campus on which to do ministry. Most significantly, investing in and ministering to university students is, we believe, crucial for reaching the world with the gospel because today’s students will be tomorrow’s leaders. Come help us invest in the eternal here at UHBC!
