The Lanark First Brethren Church is looking for you to be
the Shepherd of our flock!
Our church is a hometown church with an established history of caring for the
community, and a strong commitment toward continual community development
through Christian lifestyle. We trace our rich heritage back to July 14,1884. Since
those early days, we have actively worked to create a healthy environment for the
citizens of Lanark.
However, we are not locked into the past. The future shines brightly on the
horizon. We are concerned with helping others and are committed to renewal of
community through outreach, discipleship, and spiritual formation.
We have an average Sunday attendance of about 55-65 with a total current
membership of about 80. Our age group varying from 1-year olds to a few in their
80’S, with the majority in their 20’s to 60’s. We are a farming community with
most of our attendees being farmers and retirees. We have homemakers,
students, and clerical/staff making up the rest.
Our active Ministries would be Adult and Youth Sunday School classes, Prayer
meetings, and Kingdom Kids one day of the week. Our Outreach would be with
Workcation, the Food Pantry, and VBS
We believe in the Bible, the whole Bible and nothing but the Bible. We believe
that the Bible is the Word of God, and view it as authoritative because it testifies
to Jesus Christ, the living Word of God.
