Living Water Bible Fellowship is an Evangelical Free Church of America church which has its humble beginnings in 2000 in the small northeast Iowa community of Guttenberg (1,800 population). We have 27 members and our worship service attendance is 40-50. Guttenberg is a close-knit community with five churches: Catholic, Lutheran (ELCA), Lutheran (LCMS), United Methodist, and Living Water Bible Fellowship (EFCA).
Our mission is helping people follow Jesus. We seek to do this through edification of believers and evangelism of non-believers. Our passion is to give God all the glory. We believe Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with Jesus. We invite non-believers into a relationship with Jesus through faith. This begins a journey of going deeper in Jesus experiencing His love. Overflowing out of this is living out who we are in Christ – having a more Christlike lifestyle. It is a lifelong journey.
The church was an aging church with most attenders over 60 years old. Sunday attendance was 20-30 people. The church leaders, two years ago, realized in a few years the church would die. They decided change was necessary. They brought in an interim pastor to lead them forward. In that time, God has done a great work on our hearts. We have three new families totaling 11 children (elementary and middle school age). God is bringing in new guests about every month. To God be the glory!
