GENERAL DESCRIPTION : Aligned with the ministry philosophy of Revive Church, the Director of Children Ministries is responsible to oversee and coordinate all children’s ministries from birth through grade five partnering with children and their families in their personal journey by overseeing and coordinating biblical programming, training and support. QUALIFICATIONS: Character traits of a deacon/deaconess according to 1 Timothy 3:8–13. Loves, encourages and relates well to children and their family unit. Skilled at collaboration and team leadership that promotes church vision and unity. Passionate about ministry and the spiritual growth of children and families; can effectively communicate and implement vision. Be in agreement with Revive Church’s philosophy of ministry and doctrinal position. Has demonstrated in past ministries the ability to work well within a multi-ethnic church and community/intercultural setting. Maintains confidentiality and has the ability to discern and use wise judgment. Experienced in and has an understanding in current safety and security technology. 3-5 years of experience in children’s ministry in a church with attendance of 400-550 congregants. Experience in working with kids with special needs is a plus. Bible College and or Seminary desired. EXPECTATIONS : Work 30-40 hours per week in ministry part-time or full-time depending applicant. Reports directly to the Executive Ministry Pastor/Lead Pastor. Attends pastoral staff meetings. RESPONSIBILITIES : Implement and oversee all Sunday and weekday programs for the Children’s Ministry from birth through 5 th grade that promotes spiritual growth and Biblical teaching. Partner with families to encourage spiritual growth and to build strong families by engaging them in the vision of Revive Church. This includes equipping families with resources and providing disciple making growth opportunities via curriculum and experience. Recruit, train and motivate volunteers, lay leaders and teachers on an ongoing basis to understand the overall vision of the church and how the children’s ministry fits into that vision. Provide for nursery and children’s ministry needs for “all church” events and meetings when needed. Oversee policies, procedures and safeguards that provides for the safety and security of our children and the children’s ministry. Insure the children’s ministry provides for the development and promotion of local and global Missions. Develop ministry goals, annual budget and evaluate the effectiveness of the ministry on an ongoing basis and in an annual congregational report. Administer the equipment needs of the children’s ministry. Develop a pre-teen ministry. Manage any paid staff and volunteers of the children’s ministry. Coordinates the transition of children from grade school to junior high ministries with the youth ministries pastor. BENEFITS :   Compensation levels and all benefits are set by the Board of Elders and will be discussed on an individual basis and processed through the Executive Ministries Pastor. All compensation is to be held in complete confidence.
