The Pastor of Student Ministries serves alongside the Senior Pastor and Ministry Team to help shape the spiritual life of students.  Being someone who loves Jesus deeply, loves students genuinely, and is excited to be a part of building God’s Kingdom —both inside the church and out in the community.

The Pastor of Student Ministries primarily provides spiritual, relational, and organizational leadership for students in grades 6–12, mainly within River Valley Alliance Church but with thoughts towards the surrounding community. The goal of this ministry is to lead students to the living God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Equipping them with a solid biblical foundation, and providing a place to grow in their faith and have community so that they may live out and share their faith.

The Pastor of Student Ministries is also expected to be a vital member the church body as a whole, participating in worship, prayer and other ministry expressions. While having a heart to be part of building His Kingdom in Watertown.

This position will also provide opportunities to practice preaching.

• loves the Bible and sees it as the ultimate source of truth in this life.
• Has a heart for prayer and dependence on God
• Has Solid knowledge of Scripture and the ability to apply biblical truth to everyday life
• Senses God’s calling on your life.

Professionally

• A ministry/biblical college degree
• Licensed with The Christian and Missionary Alliance (or actively pursuing licensure/ordination)
• A learner who is coachable and eager to grow
• Strong teaching and communication skills
• Team player

• High integrity and a genuine love for people
• Relational, approachable, and sees value in all people
• Self-motivated and collaborative
• Known as a positive, respected presence in the community
