Rock Prairie Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking the man God has called to fill the position of Pastor to shepherd our congregation and challenge us to grow spiritually. We are a loving, growing independent, traditional, sovereign, and democratic Baptist Church located in the community of North Zulch, Texas. North Zulch is conveniently located about 15 minutes west of Madisonville, and about 30 minutes east of Bryan-College Station at the intersection of SH 21/US190 and FM39. Bi-vocational or part-time arrangements will be considered for candidates capable of meeting agreed upon terms and responsibilities of dual employment.

The Pastor serves as the spiritual leader and primary overseer of the church. He is responsible for preaching God’s Word, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, leading corporate worship, teaching Biblical scripture, providing pastoral care, and to provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life and function.

Qualifications:

-    Called and set apart by God to the gospel ministry and committed to living and leading in a manner as set forth for pastors in Scripture (I Timothy 3:1-7, I Peter 5:1-4, Acts 20:28-32, Titus 1:5-9, I Timothy 5:17). Previous or impending ordination is required for consideration.

-    All education and experience levels which would qualify a person to pastor a Baptist Church will be considered.

-    Excellent communication skills, strong relationship-building capabilities, and a heart for rural multi-generational ministry.

-    Candidates are expected to stand firm for the sanctity of human life, the sacredness of marriage between one man and one woman, and the fundamental freedom to express our faith in the public arena.

-    Membership at Rock Prairie Baptist Church will be required.

-    Background and reference checks required.

Compensation

-    Based on chosen candidates pastoral and leadership experience.

-    Salary is inclusive of housing allowance and possible benefits.

-    Recently updated 3 bedroom, two bath parsonage is additional compensation.
