Chinese Christian Union Church - South Position: English Minister
The Chinese Christian Union Church (CCUC) – South, located in Bridgeport, Chicago, is seeking a full-time English Minister to establish, lead and develop the English Ministry. This individual will foster spiritual growth among English-speaking members, with a focus on second-generation youth and young adults, while working in a multi-cultural, multi-generational, and multi-language church community. The English Minister will report directly to the Site Pastor.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Vision: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the English Ministry in alignment with CCUC's mission. Oversee programs across all age groups to foster discipleship, community, and spiritual growth.
- Preaching & Teaching: Preach in English worship services and lead Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship programs.
- Pastoral Care: Provide counseling, mentoring, and pastoral care to members of the English-speaking congregation.
- Community Outreach: Build relationships with the local community and lead outreach initiatives to share the gospel and meet community needs.
- Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and mentor lay leaders to sustain and grow the ministry.
- Collaboration: Work with Cantonese and Mandarin ministries to promote unity and effective cross-cultural ministry.
Qualifications
- Born-again Christian in agreement with CCUC’s doctrinal statement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Prior ministry experience, particularly with children, youth, or young adults.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of Chinese culture and experience in multi-cultural ministry.
