Position Summary:
The Senior Pastor of Grace Bible Church provides spiritual leadership to the congregation through sound biblical expository preaching, compassionate pastoral care, visionary leadership, and Christlike leadership. As a non-denominational church, we value authentic relationships, practical discipleship, Spirit-led worship, and outreach rooted in grace and truth. The Senior Pastor will guide the Church in fulfilling its mission to love God, love others, and make disciples.
Primary Responsibilities:
Preaching and Teaching
- Deliver weekly Christ-centered, Scripture-based sermons that challenge and encourage spiritual growth
- Teach and equip the Church through Bible studies, discipleship programs, or leadership development
- Ensure that all teaching and preaching aligns with the authority of Scripture and the core beliefs of the Church
Vision and Leadership
- Seek God’s direction and cast a clear, compelling vision for the future of the Church
- Work collaboratively with the elders and ministry leaders to develop and implement ministry goals
- Lead by example in spiritual maturity, integrity, and servant leadership
Pastoral Care
- Offer pastoral counseling, prayer, and support for individuals and families in need
- Visit members in hospitals, homes, or during times of crisis
- Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other special services
Staff and Ministry Oversight
- Supervise and support church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers
- Help coordinate and oversee the various ministries of the Church
- Encourage unity, growth, and development in all areas of church life
Outreach and Community Engagement
- Champion local and global missions and evangelism
- Encourage members to serve in the community and share their faith
- Represent the Church with humility and love in the broader community
Qualifications:
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects a deep personal relationship with Him
- A firm commitment to the authority of the Bible and the centrality of the Gospel
- Demonstrated experience in pastoral leadership preferred, ideally 5+ years in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree in theology, ministry, or a related field (Master’s preferred but not required)
- Strong communicator with a passion for both shepherding and equipping the Church
- Relational, humble, approachable, and accountable
- Agreement with the Church’s statement of faith and values
Accountability:
Reports to and is accountable to the Board of Elders. Receives regular feedback through evaluations, prayerful check-ins, and congregational input.
Compensation:
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Benefits may include a housing allowance, vacation, continuing education, and ministry-related expenses. A sabbatical of up to one month every three years will be provided.
