Position Summary 
The Care Pastor will design and implement ministry strategies that serve children, students, families, and the elderly that attend Garden Community Church, enabling fellowship, care, and growth in their relationship with other church members and the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a full-time, salary position in a rural community requiring 40-50 hours per week with a salary ranging from 50 to 70K annually, including benefits.

Primary Responsibilities

Christian Education Ministry:  
You will provide visionary leadership and overall supervision to help this vital ministry. You will be a visible presence as you interact with ministry coordinators/volunteers and families, providing significant leadership and support to Sunday morning classes and Wednesday night children and youth ministries. You will lead a team of 25-ish volunteers in order to teach our congregation the truth and beauty of the Word of God during these events. 

Elderly Care:  
You will provide regular visits to our members who are shut-ins, ill, or injured, as well as individuals requiring spiritual or physical support, bringing them the love of Christ and our church on your visits.  While doing so, you will work with a team of volunteers at each retirement home to assist you in reaching out to the members there. 

Congregational Care:  
You will provide leadership, management, ideas, concepts, and a vision for events, programs, and opportunities for our church members to build relationships both within the church walls and outside in the community, with the help of volunteers.

Relationships

• Report to and collaborate with the Senior Pastor
• Directly work with Christian Education, Senior Adults, and Welcome Ministries
• Recruit, train, and develop volunteers (in collaboration with ministry coordinators)
• Encourage, empower, and equip parents/families
• Internally strengthen and prioritize church cohesiveness, with a vision to work toward collaborating with local area Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Christian Evangelism Fellowship, Trail Life USA, Chambers of Commerce, and surrounding churches

Knowledge & Skill

• Bachelor’s degree desired. Will consider Bible college degree or missionary experience in lieu of.
• 3 years of full-time or bi-vocational experience providing pastoral ministry to children, youth, and families (strongly desired)
• Creativity and innovative thinking about ministering to children, youth, their families, and the elderly
• Flexible and organized with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
• A team-player who demonstrates effective leadership and delegation skills
• Experienced/personable connector and communicator, able to effectively articulate ideas/plans, communicating effectively with a variety of people and audience sizes

Qualifications

• Godly character and a Christ-Centered life formed around apprenticeship to Jesus
• A clear calling to work with people across multiple generations
• An understanding of relational ministry
• Able to solve problems and resolve conflicts
