Job Summary:   To assist the department in the picking up and dropping off passengers, donations, and other services as needed by the mission.

 Duties:

• Must be able to operate a wide range of vehicles, including both passenger and cargo vans and a small box truck.
• Must be able to read and understand map directions to donor locations.
• Must be able to move office, conference, classroom, house hold furnishings, clothing, food and miscellaneous items.
• Be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

·         Be familiar with building safety procedures, as well as fire evacuation and hazardous weather plans, and execute procedures and plans as needed.

·         Assist residents and volunteers in evacuation drills and emergency situations in the facility.

• Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

 Job Requirement/Qualifications

• Valid drivers with no DUI’s, no outstanding warrants, or meets insurance requirements for a clean driving record.
• Ability to summit a recent DMV verification record.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A working knowledge of dispatch procedures, Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word and Excel).
• 1 year of driving experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Chicago land streets and highways.

 Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years experience working as a driver or in transportation operations.
• Gifts of helps and service.

 Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, lift, and move intermittently during a shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or maneuver 60 plus pounds.
• Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed.
• Ability to works outdoors 70 to 80% of the time
• Ability to work weekends, nights, holidays, or on call.
