Lydia Home Counseling Center Therapist
Lydia Counseling Center provides in person and virtual therapy for children and families in the programs of Lydia Home and in the community, especially those with limited resources who are struggling with issues such as trauma, adoption, substitute care, and child behavior problems. Additionally, we provide individual and couples counseling and incorporate a faith-based perspective when requested. Our clinicians use a strengths-based approach to provide individualized, evidence-based care to clients. This is a full time position which requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client availability. Late afternoons along with at least two evenings are expected. Saturdays are also an option.
Therapist Responsibilities:
● Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients.
● Diagnose and treat mental health disorders using evidence-based practices.
● Create individualized treatment plans according to client needs and circumstances.
● Meet with clients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans
as necessary.
● Conduct ongoing assessments and track client progress.
● Involve and advise family members when appropriate.
● Refer clients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
● Collaborate with others for the client’s benefit
● Maintain thorough records of client sessions and progress.
● Follow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality.
● Contribute to counseling center by accomplishing related tasks as needed and
participation in weekly team meetings.
Therapist Qualifications/Skills:
● Strong clinical skills
● Strong interpersonal skills
● Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
● Willingness to support the mission and vision of Lydia Home
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
● Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
● Current with all state licensing requirements, including LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC or
LMFT
● Previous clinical experience
