Title: Men’s Minister (Campus Minister)
Purpose: The Mission of Campus Students for Christ is to evangelize and disciple students attending Western Illinois University. We work to accomplish this goal by reaching out in love to non-believers on campus, discipling those who come to CSC through the teaching of God’s Word, and fulfilling the Great Commission by going to other communities to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Basic Job Description
WICEA is looking for candidates who demonstrate a passion for discipling college-aged men, who have ministry experience, who seek to honor God in all they do, who can work well within a team, and who demonstrate a passion for sharing the love of God in all circumstances. This position will have a responsibility for developing and leading men’s ministry, preaching on Sundays or Wednesdays, participating in small group discipleship, planning and/or attending CSC mission trips, managing the CSC building and residential program, overseeing student ministry teams, developing as a preacher, and maintaining the CSC vehicles. It goes without saying that the person in this position will need to have good pastoral skills, as you will work with students daily for their spiritual growth. This employee may be asked to perform additional duties as needed.

Duties and Expectations:
Expectations
Realizing that effective ministry flows out of a vital and growing relationship with God, staff will first seek God’s face and listen to God’s voice through worship, prayer, sharpening relationships, and time in God’s Word.
Staff are expected to be involved in personal evangelism.
Staff should live an exemplary life that is above reproach in speech, love, faith, and purity. Since the Campus Minister represents God’s family, he shall conduct himself, both in public and private affairs, in a manner that glorifies God in accordance with the scriptures.
Staff should strive to live as part of the larger Body of Christ on the campus and around the world; cooperate as appropriate with other Christian ministries for the cause of Christ.
Staff should strive for excellence in all things to honor God and motivate others.
General Duties
Discipling – meet regularly with individual students to aid their spiritual growth.
Outreach – work with students to plan and carry out evangelistic and outreach strategies.
Teaching – provide Biblical instruction.
Meeting new students – meet new students and make sure all visitors are welcomed and followed up on.
Sharing Christ – look for and take opportunities to share the Good News.
International Student Ministry – be involved in reaching out to International students.
Equipping – work with students to enable them to carry out ministry. This includes oversight of some Student Ministry Groups.
Events – take part in CSC events, retreats, mission trips, etc.
Specific Duties
Develop and lead a student men’s ministry
Support small group discipleship studies
Help plan, as needed, and attend CSC events
Manage the CSC building and residential program, including the collection of rents, interviewing/evaluating prospective residents, and maintaining contracts
Lead a mission trip for students annually
Oversee Student Ministry Teams as assigned
Develop as a Preacher/Teacher and work within a weekly preaching/teaching team
Maintain CSC vehicles
Other duties as assigned.
Vacation and Days Off:
Holidays: The Campus Minister will have the following holidays off each year: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day following, and Christmas Day.
Vacation: After one year of service, the Campus Minister will receive two weeks of vacation time annually. Vacation shall be taken at times that minimize conflict with CSC activities and needs and will be coordinated through the Director of Campus Ministries.
Emergency Days: Emergency days off will be granted in special cases and will be approved by the Director of Campus Ministries.
Personal Ministry: The Campus Minister will be allowed to take part in personal ministry, such as revivals, camps, etc. These are events where the Campus Minister is not there primarily to represent CSC. The Campus Minister may keep the honorarium or offerings from personal ministry but must cover his own expenses.
Conventions/Seminars: The Campus Minister will be allowed time to attend one convention/seminar per year. This must be approved in advance by the Director of Campus Ministries at a time that will not interfere with CSC activities or needs. WICEA’s financial contribution to the convention/seminar expense is up to the discretion of the Board of Directors.
Education: The Campus Minister is encouraged to pursue a seminary degree. To this end, the Director of Campus Ministries will endeavor to allow adequate time for this in the Campus Minister’s weekly schedule. The WICEA board will periodically review monetary assistance toward further education.
