Chinese Christian Union Church-South Position: Mandarin Minister

Overview and Purpose of Position: The Chinese Christian Union Church (CCUC) – South, located in Bridgeport, Chicago, is seeking a full-time Mandarin Minister. As part of CCUC pastoral team, CCUC-South Mandarin Minister mainly focuses on the development of CCUC-South Mandarin Ministry and will report directly to CCUC-South Site Pastor. This individual is responsible for providing spiritual leadership, developing a vision and strategy for its successful implementation, and shepherding for the CCUC-South Mandarin ministry and related ministries.

Major Responsibilities:

• Preaching and Teaching – Faithfully provide Bible-based teaching and preaching for Sunday worship service, Sunday school, small groups, and other settings as needed; Assist in providing support to small groups, Sunday School or other Mandarin ministries for ministry-related curricula when requested.

• Ministry Leadership and Partnership – Assist in providing support, partnership, development, and where needed, vision, direction, and leadership for CCUC-South Ministry. Attend staff meetings, prayer meetings, Deacon meetings, South Ministry Team meetings and other meetings as needed, and assist in providing necessary reports and input. Assist with administrative tasks and support ministry operations.

• Leadership Development – Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual guidance. Help identify, equip, and develop believers within the CCUC-South Mandarin Ministry in partnership with South Site pastor, Deacons, and South Ministry Team. Work closely with them to assist in providing collaboration, accountability, shepherding, discipleship, and mentoring.

• Pastoral Care - Conduct visitation for CCUC-South Mandarin Ministry and assist in providing counseling for individuals or couples as assigned. Participate in outreach and community engagement as appropriate.

• Other Duties – Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.

Profile, Requirements, and Qualifications

• A graduate of an accredited seminary with an MDiv degree
• A clear calling to pastoral ministry and a Christ-centered life testimony
• Full-time pastoral ministry experiences preferred
• Sound biblical and theological foundation, with the ability to preach and teach faithfully
• Able to shepherd, disciple, and serve collaboratively with church leadership
• Adhere to and support the tenets of the CCUC Statement of Faith and mission statement
• Able to work collaboratively with the Pastoral Staff and other church leadership teams.
• Has a servant mindset.
• Evangelical in perspective.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (English or Cantonese proficiency preferred).
• Displays evidence of spiritual maturity that is validated by references, from current or prior employers/ministry workers, etc.
