Trinity Grace Church is a medium-sized (230– 270) evangelical non-denominational church located in Highland Park, IL, consisting of four congregations: Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and Northwest Church Plant (TGC-NW). Our Cantonese Congregation averages 70 and includes retirees, families, working professionals, and students. It is primarily first-generation Chinese. We desire to be a church that is steadfast in truth, sacrificial in faith, and sowing seeds of faith – all for the glory of God. We are also intentional in participating both directly and indirectly in foreign missions.
Applicants are expected to adhere to TGC’s Statement of Faith as well as its stated Vision and Values (https://trinity-grace.org/what-we-believe-2/). In addition, applicants and their immediate family (pending no special circumstances) should be regular attendees of TGC and oversee/participate regularly in its fellowship ministries. Due to the nature of pastoral ministry, applicants should expect some flexibility with regard to listed hours.

Job Position: Trinity Grace Church Full-Time Cantonese Congregational Pastor
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates the biblical character traits and ministry skills laid out in 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4.
- Demonstrates ability to strategically shape congregational culture, perform general pastoral duties, and empower lay leaders.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, preaching, and teaching skills.
- Must have graduated from an accredited evangelical seminary with a minimum of 3+ years of full-time experience serving in Cantonese congregation, preferably as an ordained minister.
- In general, candidates should hold a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) or equivalent.
- Able to build relational bridges between generations and congregations (English, Mandarin, TGC-NW).
- Able to lead and manage teams.
- Able to collaborate with the Lead Pastor and other Pastoral Staff on church initiatives.
- Has significant experience in the leading and coordination of small group ministries.
- Has significant experience in cross-cultural settings.
- Preferably has experience in a small church setting.
Job Description*:
1) Preaching and Teaching
- Provide biblical teaching from the pulpit as the main speaker in the Cantonese Congregation and have primary responsibility for the Cantonese Sunday Service.
- Teach Cantonese Sunday school classes.
- Lead Bible study in Cantonese small groups
- Be involved in biblical teaching outside the Cantonese Worship Service, primarily through other Cantonese ministries.
2) General Pastoral Duties
- Act as the chief shepherd for the Cantonese Congregation of TGC.
- Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, baby dedications, and communion for the Cantonese Congregation as necessary.
- Provide pastoral counseling as necessary, including (but not limited to) crisis prevention and intervention.
- Identify, disciple, and develop leadership.
3) Ministry Leadership
- Collaborate with TGC pastoral staff and the TGC Board of Elders to determine God’s plan and vision for the church.
- Participate in weekly pastoral staff meetings, monthly Elder meetings, monthly Cantonese Ministry Team meetings, and occasional Deacon meetings.
- Provide oversight, training, and mentoring of lay leaders of small group and Sunday school ministries
- Collaborate with Cantonese ministry leaders for outreach and evangelism strategies.
4) Church Administrative Duties
- Conduct effective and efficient meetings.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate expense reports and collaborate with team members in budget forecasting.
- Coordinate various congregational and church-wide events.
5) Other duties as assigned

Ministry Load: 40 hours per week (some flexibility is required) Accountability: The position is under the supervision of the Lead Pastor and is accountable to the TGC Board of Elders.
