World Gospel Outreach is looking for the right person to join our team as a nurse at Rancho Ebenezer. The main responsibility of the Ranch Nurse will be to provide overall medical care for the children, staff, residents and visitors of Rancho Ebenezer. The Ranch Nurse will be expected to promote spiritual, physical and emotional wellbeing through strong and balanced medical and Biblical practices. They will manage the medical clinic and will also equip the staff and residents to understand the best medical practices used in a home. They will manage and maintain all clinical records of the children under the Children Services department. The Ranch Nurse will also be responsible for keeping control over the pharmacy at the Ranch and communicating with the Mission House Pharmacy manager about medical needs that may arise. The Ranch Nurse will be an agent that helps to build trust and friendship with the people under his/her care. The Ranch Nurse must be a person who is able to engender trust not only in the children she/he cares for, but also with ministry peers and with his/her superiors, as well.
The essential requirements and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential/Key Responsibilities include:
● Keep track of the medical needs of the children at the Ranch and facilitate treatment for them as needed. Assess whether care must be provided for special cases outside of the Ranch
● Maintain a system of documentation for record keeping for all children under the care of the Children’s Services department
● Work the mentor parent(s) to provide and maintain a home health and safety kit for each child’s home
● Train Ranch staff on basic first aid and emergency care and response. This may include conducting regular workshops to ensure proper safety measures are being implemented
● Collaborate with the Children’s Services Manager regularly, providing updates on children as needed as well as informing of any dangerous, unsafe or possibly hazardous situations
● Be available outside of regular working hours in case of emergency
● Maintain status as a full-time fundraising missionary
● Pursue personal spiritual growth
Required Skills/Abilities include:
● Must be a born again believer in Jesus Christ
● Bi-lingual, speaking both Spanish and English or willing to learn
● Good leadership skills
● Strong communication skills with children, peers, coworkers, supervisors, doctors, etc.
● Management of tasks and the ability to multitask
● Ability to make decisions quickly in the event of an emergency
● Understanding of cultural differences and issues that may arise
● Understanding and the practice of confidentiality laws and regulations
Education, Experience & Other
● Be a U.S. citizen
● Nursing degree
● Currently holding or able to obtain proper nursing license
● Experience in healthcare
● Experience working with children is a plus, but not required
