We are a congregation of friendly, loving, and hospitable believers who invite our community to join us in service. We also serve actively with various organizations in our area. First Presbyterian Church celebrates music with a traditional choir, contemporary band, and bell choir. Our relationship with God grows deeper as we worship and sing, pray with enthusiasm, and trust in the Holy Spirit. We express Christ's love by making a difference in and around our community and world. We are grateful for the many who give generously to support our local and global ministries. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we seek the vision and courage to minister to one another, our community, and our world, simply love God; love people. We live out God’s grace in love and service through the Life, Ministry, and Mission of Christ’s Church.

The congregation is part of the ministry vision or program by participating in various opportunities and activities that the church offers, such as:

    •    Worship services, prayer groups, and music ministries

    •    Sunday school, Bible studies, small groups, retreats and mid-week family night, youth group

    •    Local and international missions (Angel House Orphanage, Tanzania), outreach projects, food ministries, and community partnerships

    •    Stewardship campaigns, financial support, and volunteer service

First Presbyterian of Joliet also encourages the congregation to share their gifts, talents, and passions with the church, and to invite and welcome new people to join our church family.
