New Life Church, located in beautiful central Michigan, is a small, growing church that centers on strong biblical preaching and worship that elevates Jesus Christ and leads the congregation toward personal encounters with Him each Sunday. We are looking for a PT Worship Leader to help us do that.
We practice and enjoy a worship service with a blend of modern, contemporary worship and theologically robust, traditional hymns.
Worship Leader Role:
- We value a worship leader who guides the congregation in worship rather than performing on a Sunday morning.
- The worship leader will work with our current worship team for rehearsals, keeping the theology of worship before the band and working with the pastor to provide a vision for what worship will be at New Life Church: doctrinally sound, creating an inviting worship experience that focuses on the beauty and majesty of Jesus Christ.
Expectations:
- Vocal and musical leadership
- Strong and genuine stage presence that demonstrates you are worshipping the Lord and inviting others to join you.
- Sunday mornings
- The band arrives early for rehearsal for 30-45 minutes
- Additional rehearsal in the week as needed
- Lead the corporate worship part of the service from welcoming the people at the beginning to closing the service at the end
- Coordinate service flow, song selection and order of worship
- Work with worship team to ensure preparedness for each service
- Meet with pastor as needed for joint planning
- Be an active and contributing member of the church
- Select and arrange songs
- Work with our Tech Team for sound and slides
Qualifications:
- Experience leading a congregational worship service in a church service
- Alignment with the doctrine and theology of New Life Church
- Able to play one or more musical instruments
- Able to work with and develop volunteer worship team at their various vocal abilities
- A love and appreciation both for current worship songs as well as traditional, classic hymns
Compensation & Hours
- PT position of 6-8 hours/week
- Rate of $20-25/hour
- Reports to Pastor
