The Role: The Foster Parent Support Coordinator provides leadership and oversight to Foster Parent Support Specialists and Relief Parents while coordinating evening operations, crisis response, and placement stabilization to support the safety and well-being of children and foster families.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to Foster Parent Support Specialists and Relief Parents within the assigned One Family Illinois village. 

2. Conduct regular individual and team supervision to review workload, service delivery, challenges, performance, and professional development needs. 

3. Maintain accurate staffing rosters, schedules, and Relief coverage calendars. Manage call-offs, substitutions, coverage gaps, and requests for coverage, and communicate staffing expectations and schedule changes to assigned staff.

4. Ensure consistent implementation of agency practices, procedures, behavior management strategies, safety protocols, and service expectations. 

5. Provide leadership and support during behavioral, family, or placement-related crises and coordinate appropriate interventions to maintain the safety and stability of children and foster families. 

6. Provide real-time consultation and guidance to Foster Parent Support Specialists and Relief Parents regarding child and family concerns, behavioral needs, crisis situations, and placement stability. 

7. Respond to urgent situations involving children or foster families and coordinate appropriate intervention, communication, and follow-up. 

8. Maintain regular communication with Professional Foster Parents regarding service needs, concerns, significant incidents, and strategies to support placement stability. 

9. Oversee the scheduling, mentoring, onboarding, and move-in coordination for Professional Foster Parents and Relief Parents.

10. Review documentation, incident reports, service records, and other required records to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with agency standards. 

11. Coordinate timekeeping for Foster Parent Support Specialists and Relief Parents, including reviewing scheduled and worked hours, monitoring utilization, and addressing discrepancies in accordance with agency procedures.

12. Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings, case consultations, staffing meetings, placement reviews, and other meetings as needed. 

13. Support the development and implementation of strategies to address children's behavioral, emotional, developmental, and safety needs and prevent placement disruptions. 

14. Identify staff training needs to support Foster Parent Support Specialists and Relief Parents in completing required training, certifications, and professional development activities. 

15. Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and training of Foster Parent Support Specialists and Relief Parents as assigned.

16. Assist with employee performance management, corrective action, and other supervisory processes in accordance with One Family Illinois policies and procedures. 

17. Maintain accurate and timely records related to supervision, staffing, incidents, and service delivery; maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with agency policies and applicable laws and regulations. 

18. Represent One Family Illinois professionally and participate in agency meetings, required trainings, and professional development activities; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of college or an Associate’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Child Welfare, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. 
• Previous supervisory experience in child welfare, foster care, behavioral health, social services, or a related human services setting. 
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in foster care or other higher-acuity service environments. 
• Knowledge of child welfare practices, placement stabilization, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care. 
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective staff supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development. 
• Strong operational leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate staffing, manage competing priorities, and respond to changing needs. 
• Sound judgment and the ability to make appropriate decisions during crisis situations and other high-pressure circumstances. 
• Ability to assess situations, identify risks, and coordinate appropriate interventions and resources. 
• Ability to work collaboratively with foster parents, children, agency staff, clinical professionals, service providers, and community partners. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation. 
• Ability to work independently and exercise discretion and sound judgment. 
• Ability to work primarily during the 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. shift, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other hours as needed to support seven-day operations. 
• Valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record and proof of automobile insurance coverage. 
• Ability to maintain required certifications and complete agency-required training, including CPR/First Aid, TCI, Medication Administration, and other applicable training. 
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials.
• Ability to work in an alcohol, tobacco, drug, and firearm-free environment.
