Position Overview – Lead Shift Supervisor
The Lead Shift Supervisor assists the Program Manager in providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to Shift Supervisors during their scheduled shifts. The Lead Shift Supervisor directly supervises PRN SS. The Lead Shift Supervisor exhibits strong leadership and communication skills that contribute to staff development and participant support. This position is FT and fulfils shift coverage needs as assigned to the FT staff and participates in the on-call rotation. The LSS is allotted offsite 5- 10 work hours a week for administrative support to the PM role. The Lead Shift Supervisor reports to the Program Manager.
Job Responsibilities
· Directly supervises PRN Shift Supervisors
· Carries a minimum of two direct care shifts
· Responsible for onboarding training of new staff on shift
· Manages scheduling needs within homebase
· Participates in On Call Rotation
· Manages participant transportation and other administrative tasks as requested by Program Manager
· Provides feedback and coaching to Shift Supervisors as needed
· Co-leads bi-monthly house meetings
· Utilizes a strength-based, trauma-informed approach
· Uses time with participants to engage and develop intentional relationships
· Cultivates an atmosphere of mutual respect through words and behavior
· Leads by example in modeling a healthy lifestyle in body, soul, and spirit
· Practices and teaches healthy boundaries to participants
· Provides support and crisis help as needed, including trauma-informed resourcing
· Participates in Shift Supervisor interviews as needed
· Maintains Team Meeting minutes
· Coordinates weekly Tour Guide schedule for participant transportation
Experience and Qualifications
• A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• A Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related field such as psychology or sociology. Two years’ experience in the field of behavioral health and some experience in residential care is preferred. Training in the following areas is desirable but not required: substance abuse, trauma, PTSD, Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs of Addiction Counselor (CAADC).
• Effective working in diverse settings with people across all socio-economic spectrums and a wide variety of personalities and roles (staff, residents, local agencies, etc.)
• Strong oral/written communication skills and listening abilities
• Well-developed ability to engage others in building relationships, sustaining momentum, etc.
• Proven capacity to maintain patience/tolerance and tact/diplomacy in high-pressure situations
• High level of integrity and strong ethical values; must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality with all records, including organizational and individual information
• Member or regular attender of a Bible-believing church
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Compensation and Benefits:
Annual salary: $47,500 – $50,000 depending on experience and qualifications
