Qualifications:
1. Theological Grounding & Education
- Educational Credentials: Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree or equivalent theological training preferred. Candidates with a degree in a related field who demonstrate exceptional biblical depth and pastoral competence will also be considered.
- Theological Conviction: A solid, intellectually rigorous evangelical theology, accompanied with a clear, deep sense of calling to pastoral ministry.
2. Pastoral Experience & Ministry Skills
- Pastoral Experience: 5+ years of pastoral English ministry experience preferred.
- Ministry Gifting: A gifted communicator in biblical preaching, effective teaching, leadership training, and compassionate pastoral care.
- Collaborative Leadership: Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills; possessing the ability to take initiative and work independently while collaborating seamlessly within a multi-staff team (Elders/Ministers/Deacons group).
- Ministry Passion: A profound, heartfelt passion for Chinese heritage church ministry.
3. Cultural Competence & Generational Bridging
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Cultural Insight: A solid understanding of Chinese-American culture, specifically the unique bicultural dynamics of second-generation Chinese-Americans.
- Generational Unity: A genuine heart for bridging cultural, linguistic, and generational gaps within a multi-congregational church environment.
4. Character & Biblical Qualifications
- Above Reproach: A consistent, proven lifestyle of personal integrity and an excellent reputation both within the church and within the broader community.
- Self-Controlled: Sober-minded, disciplined, and genuinely hospitable; free from quick-temperedness, arrogance, or a contentious spirit.
- Family Management: Demonstrates healthy household management and healthy family relationships that reflect biblical principles of spiritual leadership within the home.
Responsibilities
1. Preaching, Teaching, & Spiritual Leadership
- Pulpit & Teaching Ministry: Provide primary spiritual leadership by delivering gospel-centered, teaching across Sunday services, Bible studies, and discipleship classes to connect faith, career, and culture.
- Education, Prayer, & Shepherding: Direct key spiritual initiatives—including Sunday School, baptism classes, and prayer ministries—while providing dedicated pastoral care, counseling, and shepherding to the English congregation.
2. Strategic Ministry Development & Campus Oversight
- Vision, Planning, & Mobilization: Align ministry priorities with the overarching mission of CCC (factoring in the Church planting for English Ministry in 3-5 years, spiritual gifts, demographics, and logistics) and actively deploying congregants' spiritual gifts to serve the church.
3. Intergenerational Leadership & Structural Unity
- Cross-Cultural Partnership: Collaborate closely with first-generation Chinese leadership (Elders, Pastors, Deacons, Staff) to maintain church unity while effectively advocating for the English congregation.
- Identity & Bridging: Partner with the leadership team to define the Youth/English Ministry’s identity within CCC, proactively guiding the congregation through cross-cultural and generational dynamics to build a healthy intergenerational bridge.
4. Community Outreach & Global Mobilization
- Strategic Evangelism & Integration: Develop targeted outreach initiatives to welcome and engage local families in the Greater Cincinnati area.
- Fellowship & Missions: Cultivate a vibrant community culture by organizing regular fellowship events and mobilizing trained teams for local and global missions.
