Lakeview Covenant Church is seeking a Part-Time Children’s Pastor to shepherd our little ones from ages 3 to 12th (up to 5th/6th graders), with the help of lay leaders and teachers.

We are specifically looking for a candidate who will do the ministry in English (with the ability to speak in Korean). We welcome all applicants who are either Biblically trained, or presently being trained in a seminary or Bible college institution. They must have a heart to lead and develop leaders for God’s Kingdom. The bulk of ministry would happen on Fridays and Sundays (excluding VBS and other events).

Children’s Pastor Responsibilities include:
• Overall shepherding and leading of worship for about 10-12 students in Kidsland 1
• Leading the Friday evening program
• Teaching children & training the teachers
• Organizing events and activities (VBS, events, etc.)
• Attending weekly staff meetings for accountability

Description:

1. Spiritual Leadership and Teacher Development

The Director serves as a spiritual leader who faithfully guides and equips teachers through the ministry of the Word and prayer. This includes leading weekly teacher training and prayer meetings every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM.

2. Oversight of Scripture-Centered Education

The Director is responsible for overseeing and strengthening Scripture-centered education for all students. In addition, this role provides consistent encouragement and guidance to parents, reminding them of their primary responsibility to nurture their children spiritually through the Word at home.

3. Integration into Corporate Worship

On the first Sunday of each month, as well as on designated special Sundays, children will join their parents in the main worship service at 10 AM (approximately 18 worship services and 12+ communion services annually). The Director will actively support and encourage this practice so that children may participate in corporate worship and receive spiritual formation through the example and leadership of their parents.

4. Collaboration within the Education Ministry

The Director will work in close cooperation with the Kidsland2 ministry staff and serve under the leadership of the Education Pastor, including participation in Vacation Bible School (VBS) and other special events. As a member of the education department, the Director will collaborate with fellow ministry leaders in the edification and unity of the church.
