Job Description: Work with the Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS) staff to manage check-in at the registration desk for the conference. This area of the conference serves as the first point of contact for attendees at a national medical conference that meets every year at the Sofitel Hotel in Chicago. We are looking for assistance in providing efficient registration support and a welcoming, professional experience for physicians, researchers, and industry representatives. We are looking for someone who can jump in and assist for a maximum of 8 hours. Previous experience with customer service would be helpful.
Key Responsibilities:
Meeting Attendance: approximately 200 attendees
Dress: Business Professional (slacks, blouses, dresses, and/or blazers)
Dates/Hours:
Thursday, May 14, 2026, 6-10am
Friday, May 15, 2026, 6:30-10:30am
We can be flexible on the ending times but start times are firm.
Pay: $25/hour, will be paid onsite at the conclusion of work, via check. This is a limited term employment opportunity for a max of 8 hours.

The Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS) is a non-profit medical society founded in 2007 dedicated to the free exchange of scientific information on lumbar spine disorders, emphasizing academic research free from commercial bias. It promotes research into lumbar disease pathology, treatment, and patient care through annual meetings, grants, and educational webinars, often in collaboration with institutions involved in spine care. The LSRS is a remote organization with two yearly in person meetings in May and October.
The Annual Meeting is a 1.5 day conference that includes lecture, discussion, Q&A, and scientific presentations. Attendees range from experienced orthopedic and neurological spine surgeons, to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, fellows, residents, and medical students. The focus of the meeting is to discuss and share information on spine surgery technique and research via many modes of learning.
