Purpose:
The Executive Director (ED) is the vision and mission keeper for <Forum Group that has about 55 business leaders and has been around for 25 +years>, and will have a firm grasp on the purpose, values and strategy of the ministry and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission. The ED will oversee all operations, functions and activities of the ministry and its staff and will be responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high-quality Christ-centered vision.
Executive Director responsibilities summary:
Maintain and grow the ministry’s core activity of spiritual development in its members and staff, encourage their journey toward Christ-likeness.
Develop and implement strategies aiming to promote the ministry’s mission and vision.
Develop and implement growth strategies focusing on finding and developing new regional directors as God would lead.
Create and maintain a flourishing culture within the ministry for its staff and members holding to the established and stated mission, vision and values.
Build an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to subordinate managers and staff.
Ensure adherence of the ministry’s daily activities and long-term plans to established policies and legal guidelines
Direct and oversee incoming and outgoing financial efforts
Forge and maintain relations of trust with donors, ministry partners and external authorities
Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile.
Responsibilities Expanded:
1. Leadership and Management
The Executive Director is responsible for strategic planning and staff coordination in the execution of the ministry’s purpose.
Vision and Strategy: Develop and implement strategies that align with the ministry’s mission, values, and goals for its financial development, ministry development, and growth.
Values: Champion <Forum’s> values and provide leadership in their implementation within the ministry staff and membership.
Board Collaboration: Work closely with the board of directors to define and communicate <Forum’s> vision and direction.
Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, and manage a strong leadership team and staff. Foster a positive and flourishing work environment.
Ministry Culture: Continue to develop and maintain an organizational culture that reflects the ministry’s commitment to serving Jesus Christ and to serving others, particularly those involved with the ministry both inside and out.
2. Operational Oversight
Program Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of <Forum’s> programs and services ensuring that the operational systems, practices, and policies of the organization responsibly and effectively support its ministry activities.
Compliance: Ensure that <Forum> adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.
Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation.
Administration: Oversee the administration of the ministry so that it remains organizationally sound and financially sustainable over time.
3. Financial Management
Budgeting: Develop and oversee the ministry’s budget. Ensure financial stability and sustainability.
Fundraising: Oversee and participate in fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising events.
Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the board and other stakeholders.
4. Community and Public Relations
Advocacy: Represent the ministry in the community and advocate for its mission and programs.
Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with donors, community leaders, and other nonprofit organizations.
Communications: Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies to enhance the ministry’s public image and outreach.
5. Strategic Planning
Long-term Planning: Lead the ministry in the development of long-term strategic plans in order to fulfill the mission and vision and to ensure growth and sustainability.
Goal Setting: Set and monitor goals and objectives to achieve strategic priorities.
6. Board Administration and Support
Board Meetings: Prepare for and participate in board meetings. Provide timely and accurate information to the board.
Governance: Assist the board in the development and implementation of governance best practices.
