Senior Pastor - Job Description

The Purpose: To grow disciples, who make disciples, for the glory of God.

The Position at Nortonville Gospel Chapel:
• Reports to Church Board
• Is a member of the Church Board

The Mission:
• The Pastor shall by virtue of his office, discharge all the functions of the ministry and
together with the Elders shall be directly concerned with the spiritual welfare of the
congregation.

The Qualifications:
Those mentioned in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9.
• Christian faith: a growing believer, who is open to being taught, and willing to embrace
the fullness of the grace message and challenged to teach the breadth of God’s revelation
as found in Scripture.
• Spiritual gifts: Administration, leadership, teaching.
• Passion: a desire to see believers acknowledging and utilizing their spiritual gifts in
ministry and service. Zealous for the youth, and reaching young families and children
from the pulpit.
• Skills: organization, self-motivation, good written/verbal communication skills;
cooperative spirit, compassion.
• Education: Highly recommended to have a Bible institute, college, or seminary degrees
in pastoral/Bible/theology studies.
• Weekly Time Commitment: Full-time.

Salary:
Between $50,000 and $70,000 annually depending on experience
