Family Pastor
Reports to: Lead Pastor & Church Council
Qualifications:
Has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, characterized by a vibrant prayer life and commitment to living out Biblical teachings.
Has a deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A deep understanding of and commitment to the Bible, and Christian theology.
Meets the qualities and qualifications of a pastor (overseeer) as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9 and Peter 5:2-4
Some Bible and ministry experience and/or education preferred
Position Objective: The Family Pastor’s primary responsibility is to minister to and equip our church’s children, students, and their families.
Compensation: Part-time, Salaried
Role and Skills
What is the Role (day to day)?
Planning and executing children and student ministry
Communication and follow up with families
Building relationships with community organizations and schools
Working church leadership to discern God’s leading at Ridgewood
Working with the lead pastor in planning and implementing mission/vision of church
Congregational care alongside the lead pastor

What are the skills?
Ministry Minded:
Effective communicator of Scripture
Representing the church well in public-facing settings
Vision-casting for children/student ministry direction
Event and program planning (curriculum, camps, VBS, youth nights, etc.)
Collaborative:
Ability to work under and collaborate with the Lead Pastor/elders
Recruiting, training, and shepherding volunteer teams
Delegation and empowering others (not just doing ministry solo)
Communicative:
Comfortable communicating with kids, teens, and adults in age-appropriate ways
Scheduling and logistics coordination through communication/planning tools (email, group texts, church management software, social media)
Relational:
Ability to build trust and love children, students, and families with a sensitivity to diverse family structures and needs
