Mission/ Vision and Values 

Salt and Light Coalition empowers survivors of human trafficking to thrive through a trauma-informed, three-step approach that equips them with self-awareness, workplace readiness, and ongoing support.

• Program Outline: 6 month Life Skills and Job Training Program. Focus on healing the mind, body, and soul through the biopsychosocial spiritual model. The majority of our program is survivor- led. 

• Population: Female survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence

  • We refer to our clients as “Thrivers”

  • Most thrivers have history with addiction

    • zero tolerance for drug use in our program, must have 6 months clean

  • Most thrivers have PTSD

    • zero tolerance for sex work while in our program

Objectives and Responsibilities: 

• Objective: Looking for motivated, professional, and passionate individuals to contribute to the work that we do with female identified survivors of sexual violence. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Apply and grow in interpersonal skills                               

• Assist in everyday tasks needed for Thriver success                       

• Provide them with adequate community resources    

• Opportunities to lead group activities 

• Research retention within our population

• Build rapport with Thrivers 

• Provide them with adequate community resources 

• Clinical documentations (case notes, one on one support etc.) 

• Schedule: Flexible 

  • Monday- Thursday 1-4 PM Life Skills Program 

  • Friday: 11:30-1:30 PM Team Meetings (onsite) 

• Relatable Majors: Psychology, Social Work/ Sociology, Criminology, Public Health,  etc. 

• Fluent in English 

Important Info 

In-take Process

1. Orientation type/info: Volunteer Training (Trauma- Informed Training. Upon Trauma informed training, applicants will discuss expectations and objectives for their internship with Recruitment Specialist and Program Manager. 

2. Background Checks Requirements: Background check required by anyone working directly with our clients unless already completed by the school

3. COVID-19 Requirements: No vaccination requirement to be onsite. We follow CDC guidelines
